O'Hara's Irish Stout
PRODUCT DESCRIPTION:
Brewed at Carlow Brewing Company in southern
Ireland since 1998 and carrying the family name of the brewery
founders, O’Hara’s is a full bodied and luxuriously smooth Irish
Stout. Brewed at 4.3% ABV and available in 330ml bottle and on
draught. The combination of traditional stout hops, with an extra
pinch of roast barley, delivers an award-winning stout true to the
Irish tradition.

TASTING NOTES
Appearance:
A deep black color with a reddish hue when held to the light. It pours with a thick creamy head that is almost tan in color.
Aroma:
On the nose the drinker experiences a rich and complex coffee aroma with light liquorice notes.
Flavor:
This Stout has a robust roast flavor with a full bodied and smooth mouth feel. The roast flavors lead to a dry espresso like finish.
Aftertaste:
A generous addition of Fuggles hops lead to a tart bitterness which mingles with the roast espresso flavors on the tongue.
Food Pairings:
Excellent with Seafood particularly shellfish and smoked salmon.
Also pairs well with strong flavored cheeses and dry cured meats such as Parma ham.

at the Millennium International Brewing Industry Awards, O’Hara’s Irish
Stout was bestowed these coveted honors by 33 international brewing
experts in a blind-tasting format. Critically acclaimed by such
renowned beer critics as the late Michael Jackson and John McKenna,
author of Ireland’s Bridgestone Guide, O’Hara’s Irish Stout has also
received accolades from the CAMRA group for its cask conditioned
version which was recently voted number 1 beer at the 2008 Milan Beer
Festival (Italy).
